The Law of Faith
Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Romans 3:27 KJV
When God created the physical universe He established laws by which the physical realm was to be governed. The Law of Faith is one of those laws. You are going to examine the Law of Faith as it relates to other Laws of God. God provided the Law of Faith as a way of living victoriously in and on the earth. The good news of the scriptures let you know that you are to live by faith in the truth that you have been made righteous.
Romans 1:16-17 KJV For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just will live by faith.
If you are to live by faith, you should learn everything you can about faith for without faith you know that you cannot please God.
Hebrews 11:6 KJV But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
In searching the scriptures we also learn that Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith. Saying it another way is to say that the Word of God is the author and finisher of our faith and it is through the Word of God that we mature in the truth of our righteousness.
Hebrews 12:2 AMP “Looking away [from all that will distract]to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher[bringing it to maturity and perfection].”
Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith, gives you faith as you hear His word, believe His word, receive His word as truth and act on His word. When you hear the word preached you have a choice to believe it or reject it. Believing the word preached and receiving it brings forth faith. Acting on what you believe is how you act in faith and live by faith.
Romans 10:17 KJV So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
At this point you should take note that this scripture does not say that faith comes from having heard the word of God, but from hearing and hearing and hearing endlessly. Also keep in mind that God’s Word and Faith are one. Think of God’s Word as containers and what they contain is faith. So when you need or desire or want more faith get more of God’s Word.
Romans 10:8 KJV But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
