The Sower Soweth The Word
Mar 4:26 AMP And He said, The kingdom of God is like a man who scatters seed upon the ground, 27 And then continues sleeping and rising night and day while the seed sprouts and grows and increases—he knows not how. 28 The earth produces [acting] by itself–first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the grain is ripe and permits, immediately he sends forth [the reapers] and puts in the sickle, because the harvest stands ready.
In Mark 4:26 – 29 Jesus tells us how a harvest is produced in the kingdom of God. We should take note that the man is not describe as a sower, simply a man that scatters seed upon the ground. The man does not plant a single seed, he scatters the seed upon the surface and in verse 27 the man then rests with a belief that he will receive a harvest
without understanding how the harvest is produced. Jesus lets us know in verse 28 that the process is caused by the earth and not by the man. Jesus wants us to understand that it is not because of the seed plus, the man, the man’s faith, the man’s praying, or the man’s believing or not believing. When we are sowing God’s Word in our hearts, we don’t have to know how the word of God produces a harvest in our lives. Our part is to plant the word and patiently await the harvest. We will see more and greater manifestation of that which we are believing God for when we learn that harvest is in the Word and the Word is Jesus. It is not ever the Word plus anything or Jesus plus anything or anyone. It is Jesus alone or we can say it is the Word alone. The following scripture from the book of Isaiah gives us
further insight into God’s system of producing a harvest.
Isa 61:11 AMP For as [surely as] the earth brings forth its shoots, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to spring forth, so [surely] the Lord God will cause rightness and justice and praise to spring forth before all the nations [through the self-fulfilling power of His word].
God’s Word is self-fulfilling all you have to do is speak the Word of God in faith and patiently await the harvest without doubting. When you doubt you uproot the seed and kill the harvest. The epistle of James warns us that a double minded man will not receive anything from God. God is not keeping anything from you, being double minded keeps you from being able to receive what the Lord freely gives.
Jas 1:3-4 KJV Knowing [this], that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have [her] perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Jas 1:6-8 AMP Only it must be in faith that he asks with no wavering (no hesitating, no doubting). For the one who wavers (hesitates, doubts) is like the billowing surge out at sea that is blown hither and thither and tossed by the wind. 7 For truly, let not such a person imagine that he will receive anything [he asks for] from the Lord, 8 [For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].
